Practical Sailor and Powerboat magazines:

Awards!Practical Sailor and Powerboat magazines pronounce XYZ the winner of their April 2006 anchor test: "light weight and superior performance in the soft mud bottom earned the XYZ anchor a top pick".

For us to select an impeccable performance and highest standard Practical Sailor quoted: "The only anchor that performed at that level was XYZ. We awarded it a top pick based on its performance". This anchor will not break out, even when overpowered. Competitors were Delta, Bruce, Spade, Bulwagga, CQR and all other best marine anchors in the world.

"Excellent" and "set hard and buried immediately" describes XYZ.

American Bureau of Shipping:

ASB Approved

In tests conducted by the American Bureau of Shipping in a sand bottom with a five to one scope. The pull was stopped at 3,000 pounds for fear of breaking the shackle. They continued with test, with a larger shackle and 3-strand, twisted 5/8" nylon rope. Although the rope had an 11,000 lb breaking strength, it broke! The anchor was retrieved undamaged.

In soft mud the XYZ set and held at 400 pounds in the ABS test. This is equivalent to the holding of the Delta anchor, which is 3x heavier than the XYZ. XYZ relies on its artificial intelligence and fluid dynamic design to wedge itself deeper and stay upright. Shackle, cable wire and chain not included.

XYZ Anchor Reviews:

XYZ AnchorJuly 2006 - David Lazarus of Virginia wrote to us:
"Our cruise was a total success and we used the new XYZ exclusively. Although the weather was quite settled on most occasions, the XYZ performed flawlessly. During each anchoring event, the anchor was easily set by hand, almost instantly, and was further set by reversing the engines. All anchorages were either soft mud, or mud mixed with clay. During retrieval, it was quite apparent that on each occasion the anchor was completely buried. Retrieval was simple: move vessel forward recovering rode until over anchor, drive forward to release the anchor. A GPS anchor alarm was set on each occasion to measure drag, if there was any-there was not. If you look closely at the pics. you can see mud/clay indicating total burial.

XYZ Anchor We believe that you have developed a "winner" and we look forward to using in rougher conditions! "

XYZ Anchor Demonstration:

Captain Jim McGinnissThe extreme holding power of the XYZ is clearly demonstrated by Captain Jim McGinniss and his 42 foot the "Lauren K" of Mt. Sinai New York. The boat has 30,000-pounds of displacement, a 395 horsepower diesel engine, and tested the XYZ Anchor on a sand seabed off Long Island, New York.

XYZ Anchor We tested our 14,5 lbs prototype Extreme® anchor with Captain Jim McGinness' 42’ boat /400 HP. With over 2,000 RPM (on sudden impact - boat speed about 12 mph) we were able to break the 5/16" / (8 mm) Broken Cablestainless steel cable wire (9800. lbs / 4500kg breaking strength). This test was repeated several times, on a number of locations – each time successfully. Notice a shiny fluke surface! The XYZ Extreme® Anchor did not suffer any damage.

The XYZ Anchor did not suffer any damage but notice the shredded cables pictured clearly. It displays the extreme holding power of the XYZ...
